On March 13, 2023, the Centre for Entrepreneurship had an inspiring day with the entrepreneurs who are currently incubated in our program. The event was a workshop focused on building a Strong Organization, facilitated by the Centre Manager, Mr. Solomon Nyamurima. The workshop aimed to equip the Incubatees with practical skills and knowledge to create sustainable and successful enterprises.
The day started with a welcome address by Mr. Nyamurima, who highlighted the importance of building a strong organization for the success of any business. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, but it is about building an organization that can sustainably deliver value to customers.
The first session of the workshop focused on refining business strategies. Mr. Nyamurima emphasized the need to have a clear vision and mission for the business and the importance of aligning the business strategy with the overall goals of the organization. He also discussed various tools and frameworks that can be used to analyze the business environment and develop effective strategies. In the second session, the Incubatees learned about developing effective team management skills. Mr. Nyamurima discussed the importance of building a strong team and how to create a culture that fosters innovation and collaboration. He also shared various techniques for managing team conflicts and building trust among team members.
During the session the workshop focused on financial management. The Incubatees learned about various financial management tools and techniques that can help them manage their finances effectively. Mr. Nyamurima also discussed the importance of financial planning and forecasting, and how to use financial metrics to measure the success of the business.
The workshop ended with an open discussion featuring entrepreneurs in-house who shared their experiences and insights with everyone. The feedback from the Incubatees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the practical skills and knowledge they gained from the workshop. The workshop was a reminder that entrepreneurship is a journey that requires continuous learning and improvement. The Centre for Entrepreneurship remains committed to supporting the Incubatees in their journey to build sustainable and successful enterprises.
