NEW ADDITIONS TO THE DUT CENTRE FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP TEAM
The DUT Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (DUT-CSERI) has formally welcomed its new team members during an incubation induction held at the Durban Botanic Gardens. The four (4) new members will serve the department as interns for the next 12 months.
The DUT-CSERI believes in tasting their own medicine, hence, three of the new team members are the product of the university with one being a graduate from Mangosuthu University of Technology.
Mr Bhekithemba Nxumalo (Photographer/Videographer), he holds a Diploma in Photography. He works closely with the Marketing Officer. He is responsible for capturing, editing and delivering photographs and videos to support CSEs print and digital marketing materials.
Miss Nomvelo Mkhwanazi (Journalist Intern), graduated with a Diploma in Journalism. She works closely with the Marketing Officer. Nomvelo is responsible for communicating and building relationships between SMMEs and the CSERI. She plays a vital role when it comes to advertising for the SMMEs, whether on radio or digital platforms. She puts together engaging articles for the institutions website. She also assist in other administration duties.
Miss Xoliswa Buthelezi (ICT intern), she holds an Honors degree in Information and Communication Technology. She is responsible for helping the SMMEs create their own 3D designs, signage, and wall décor as well as business prototypes. She does all this through the Maker Space.
Miss Khanya Flatela (Financial Accountant), she graduated from MUT with a Diploma in Accounting. She is responsible for generating and analyzing reports, taking notes during Incubations, assisting with audits and entering data. She also assist in administrative work while observing different aspects of accounting portfolio management.
The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it from you! The CSERI is extremely thrilled and cannot wait to see the products of DUT putting what they have learnt into practice.
