On June 2, 2023, the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CSERI) had the privilege of hosting a visit from the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD). The delegation was led by Ms. Nthambeleni Seshibedi and Ms Halala Ndlovu and included other senior government officials.
The purpose of the visit was to witness the groundbreaking impact of the CSERI firsthand and to learn more about the Centre’s cutting-edge maker space. The delegation also took the time to meet with some of the CSERI’s extraordinary entrepreneurs, who are using their businesses to drive positive social change in South Africa.
The delegation was impressed by the CSERI’s work and its commitment to supporting entrepreneurs. Ms Nthambeleni praised the CSERI for its role in creating jobs and empowering South Africans to start and grow their own businesses. She also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
The CSERDI is grateful to the DSBD for its support and for recognizing the important role that entrepreneurs play in South Africa. The Centre is committed to continuing to support entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and make a positive impact on their communities.
